Police Pickings.A telephone message came from up in Maple Grove last evening calling the police to that neighborhood saying some drunken men and women were disturbing the peace. Officers Dixon and Henry Hoffman responded, but found no trace of the intoxicated people. Upon investigation they found that the trouble had been caused by the actions of Mrs. Dickey, who lives on Union street and who had left home with the avowed intention of drowning herself in Hawcreek and was prevented from so doing by relatives.It was told that she had -attempted to eat pulverized glass the night before. Mrs. Dickev is mucha/wrought up over the marriage of her youngest daughter a few woeks ago and savs she can not live withoutksher. She time aud again repeated her threat to end her life.
