Dundee Infant 1st Baby in ’Sometimes it pays to be late!And for once the “early birddidn't capture the prize ”Miss Wendy Rae Harper, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Gary (Mary) Harper, 18 Hollister St., Dundee, is one smart youngster.Due to be born the latter part of December, she staged her arrival for Jan. 3 at 12:55 p.m., andthereby became the first baby to be born in 1973 in Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.In cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, many Penn Yan merchants donated gifts to the infant's mother William G. Gunderman,Chamber president, presented a $25 United States Savings Bondfrom the Chamber, and gifts from the Security Trust, J.J, Newberry's, Lincoln First Bank, Lane Drugs, Neisner s, Eaton Plaza Jeweler's, Henderson Drugs, W T. Grant, Long's Book Store, Children’s Toggery, Cokim bia Bank, Johnson-Smith Florist, Zimmer Florist and Lown’s Department Store.#■FIRST BABY OF ’73 — Wendy Rae Harper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Harper of Dundee, is pictured with her mother and William Gunderman, Chamber of Commerce president, who presented gifts from the Chamber and Penn Yan merchants. Infant Harper was the first baby to be born in Soldiers and SailorsMemorial Hospital in 1973.
