Homer couple Charity and Daniel Wilson are proud parents of Calhoun County’s first baby of the New Year. Marissa May Wilson was born Jan. at 7:26 a.m. at Oaklawn Hospital. Delivered by Dr. David Byrons, Marissa was due on Dec. 28, but apparently held off to help her family celebrate the New Year. Marissa was one of three babies born at Oaklawn’s Birth Center on New Year’s Day, and she just missed being one of the 616 babies born at Oaklawn in 2002 — a hospital record. Marissa is pictured here with her parents and big brother Jakob, who is one-year-old.
