Pryor Proposes Titan MonitoringWASHINGTON (AF' — Sen David Pryor, D-Ark, called Tuesday lor the creation ot a special congressional group to monitor improvements in the Titan U nnsssile system.The improvements were recommended in an Air Force report released Tuesday I think that the changes recommended in this report must be made, they must be made immediately,” Pryor said. And I think it’s going to take a lot of monitoring to make certain that this is done.”Pryor said he would be asking senators and representa lives from states with Titan missiles to form the organization to check on the improvements suggested The report said the missiles were basically safe, but ••potentially hazardous.”Silo Report ReadyATLANTA (AP — A fourmonth investigation Dy the national Centers for Disease Control uncovered no evidence of “widespread exposure to toxic gases among Arkansas residents near the site of a Titan II missile silo explosion, the Atlanta Constitution said todayA draft report on the centers’ study also said no seriousillnesses resulted from the afteretfects of the blast, thenewspaper said.The report, according to the Constitution, included the results of the CDC’s surveys of residents of 10 towns surrounding the Titan !1 site in Damascus, Ark , as well as a study by the Arkansas state epidemiologist of residents et Guy, a small town six miles from the blast The report has not been made public.
