CeciI Crew, 99,Fullerton'smayor in '50sThe Orange County RegisterCecil Crew, 99, mayor of Fullerton in the 1950s during the beginning of the city’s boom years, has died.“We were a little old city town then, just beginning to grow,” said Howard “Cornie” Cornwell, who served on the City Council from 1954 to 1966 and as mayor from 1958 to 1960. “Everything was orange groves then. You might say we built the city from then on.”Mayor Crew, who owned an Oldsmobile dealership in Fullerton for 20 years and served on the City Council from 1952 to 1956 and as mayor from 1954 to 1956, died Tuesday.. He was former president of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, Fullerton Merchants Association and Fullerton Boy’s Club. He also served on the North Orange County Water Board for eight years.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at McAulay Wallace Mortuary, Fullerton. Services will be at noon Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Loma Vista Memorial Park, Fullerton.I
