OlilTL'AUV.William Jasper Calhoon, was b6rn on January 27. 1818, in Gallia county, Ohio. He came to lllinolB in 1872, locating In Effinghum county. Hu was married February 18, 187 5 to Elmazy Jane Durk, and to t'hls union four children were born. A number of years ago lie profese I faith in Christ, and in 1008 he placed his membership with the M. E. church at Dix. 111., where lie lived a consistent Christian until his death, December 21. 1020. at the ugo of 71 years 10 months and 24 days. His wife and one son. Wesley and only daughter Welthy having been called to the-other world a few years ahead of him He leaves two sons, Elmer of Dix. 111., Emery of Louisville, 111., four brothers. Jeptha and Vinton of Effingham. 111.. John of Thebes. 111., and Sylvester of Oxfy, Mo., two sisters. Clementine of Effingham, III., and Elizabeth of Fuirdcaling, Mo., and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. He was laid to rest December 24, IP20. in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, near Dix, 111.'S
