DELPHOS NEW YEAR’S BABY—Scott Allen Wurst, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wurst of 1033 North Washington St., was born at 8:21 a.m. yesterday at St. Rita’s Hospital becoming the first Delphos baby of 1972. Baby Scott weighed six pounds and 13 ounces at birth. His timely arrival brings him and his family many prizes from local merchants who sponsored the contest. He has a two-year-old brother, MichaelWayne. His mother is the former Florine (Penny) Gabel. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Gabel of 203 West Fourth St. and Mr. and Mrs. Othmer Wurst of 427 East Harmon St. The father is an assembler at Fruehauf Axle Plant. He served in the Navy from March of 1967 to December of 1970. He is a 1965 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School. Mrs. Wurst is a 1965 graduate of Delphos Jeffersonand worked at one time at the St. Marys Foods and at the Chew Chew. During Mr. Wurst’s Navy years he studied jet engine mechanics, was stationed in Pensacola, Fla., and then went to the Gulf of Tonka on anaircraft carrier.
