Pattis, of Providence, on Wednesdayevening at the meeting of Charles E. Lawton Post, No. 5, on the occasion of a must interesting and instructive lecture delivered by that gentleman. Thesubject was “The Confederate Invasion of New Mexico and Arizona in. and the general verdict was that Comrade Pettis handled it in a masterly manner. Captain Pettis has a very happy way of expressing himself and held the rapt attention of the audience during the entire delivery. The paper was (published as number ten of the Century articles uf I ho Civil War. The brave comrade will deliver a lecture before Gen. G, X. Warren Post 011 the Oth proximo. At the Wednesday evening„ meeting the comrades, by a rising vote, passed a hearty vote of thanks to the lecturer for his able and instructive address.Min.
