STATE OFFICIAL TO INVESTIGATE MILK WAR AT HOUSTONHOUSTON, Feb. 22.—(/P—A representative from Attorney General Allred’s office was expected here today to investigate a milk '‘war’ which had been going on more than a week between organized produced and organized distributors.The producers, members of the South Texas Producers' Association, continued selling milk at retail in opposition to tne distributors and had been joined by two distributors and an Ice cream concern.The producers declined, Feb. 14, to accept a cut in the price of wholesale milk, posted by the distributors, from 20 cents per gallon to 16.6 cents, and began bottling their milk themselves for sale at retail at five to seven cents. The distributors are getting nine and ten. cents. Much of their milk is being shipped in from upstate points.
