Baby deliveredat motelTerry Leach of Mission is a quailified Emergency Medical Technician and employee of the Citv of Mission.wEarlier Friday morning Terry was called to the Mission Motel by a frantic father who found him at the Mission Police Station Terry went across the street and talked Abourezk’s Store manager Dick Kazda, also an EMT, into accompanying him to the motel Mission Police Department dispatcher Kathy Guerue went along.They found a dad, who had called the Rosebud Ambulance Service m the meantime, and a mother who quickly give birth to, m Terry’s words, “a normal sized, healthy baby bov ”Terry said he wrapped the youngster in a clean Mission Motel towel and then he, Dick, Kathy and the new father prepared the mother for transfer to the PHS Hospital at Rosebud via the Mission Rescue Unit, an ambulance type vehicle. They met a Rosebud Ambulance Ser vice unit coming to Mission onthe wav.Terry said he remembers little more from the entire episode other than the mother said something like “that was quick and he felt a mixture of great bravado and great fearThe TRIBUNE and NEWS loins the community in feeling proud of Terry. Dick and Kathy who responded to a call for help without a second thought about who, where, when or why they were helping, similar to situations m which our community’s police officers, ambulance service personnel, hospital and clinic personnel find themselvesdaily.
