Melton doesn't expect too many to show up supporting the mayor. “I don't believe 25 will show up supporting him,” Melton predicted. Melton said only eight or ten refused to sign the petition while it was circulating throughout Hanceville.As to whether or not Plunkett will resign, Melton has no prediction and the mayor isn’t giving any hints until tomorrow. When the petition was presented to Plunkett, “I just figured he'd say, “no I’ll not resign,’’ Melton said.
