Shawd observed his 86th birthday at a gathering Jan. 29lh in the Letcher Con-greagational Church parlors. Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Shawd ar.d three children, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Shawd, Mr. and Mrs. John Schneider and three children and Mrs. D Schneider of Mitchell; j and from Letcher, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hansen and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Shawd and three children, Ralph Shawd Jr., and three children, and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Van Walleghen an$ daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Uhre and threechildren and Mr. and Mrs Gerald Olson and family.Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Van Walleghen of Woon-' socket and Mrs. Tom Campbell of Plankinton.The tribute to the guest of honor was made by his daughter, Mrs. M. Van Walleghen and on behalf of his grandchildren, by LindaShawd.Various musical s-Sections were presented by Sandy Shawd, Kay-leen, Geaven and Linda Shawd, Connie Olson, Marsha Schneider, Curtis Uhre and Jolene and Darts Uhre.Mr. and Mrs. Jake Shawd were dining room hostesses Others assisting were Mrs. Lyle Shawd.
