Ambulance Loses Race With StorkGILCREST — An ambulance ' from Adamson*s Mortuary at 1 Greeley got into a race with a , stout'Winged stork Wednesday • morning and got beat out by a diaper pin.Both the stork and the ambul* ; ance were racing to the home ■ Mrs. Dorothy Jabalera, who ' was expecting her first baby. , At home with Mrs. Jabalera were her husband and an aunt. ‘ The aunt assisted with the birth 1 of the new baby girl.1 The ambulance carried both | the mother and infant to Weld ' County General Hospital, where they were admitted.Hospital officials said the mother was in good condition . and the baby was listed as fair. . Ray Chacon, a next door » neighbor, said the baby had ap-» parently not yet been named.5 Commenting on the race, Chacon told the Tribune . ‘'It was close but the stork beat . *em to it.”
