Dworshak Dam Heads Idaho Projects in Nixon's BudgetBy W. DALE .NELSON ...AP Regional Service ...,WASHINGTON (AV) - Idaho projects in the budget sul mitten to Congress by president Nison today are headed by §10 million for construction of Dworshak Dam,Other Army Corps of Engineers funds include $7.4 million for the Ririe Lake project,Investigation funds include §60,000 for the Big Wood River and its tributaries, $300,000 for the Poise metropolitan region and the Upper Snake River and tributaries in Idaho and Wyoming, $570,000 for the Columbia River and tributaries, $376,000 fur the Spokane River and itstributaries, and $208,000 for thePacific Northwest River Basin.Recommended for operation and maintenance are $700,000for Alber.i Falls Dan:, $2.1 million for Dworshak Dam unu Reservoir, and $370,000 for Lucky Pe3k Lake.Altogether, the G-ni; SiaU-gets $22 million in Army Engineers projects rtecnimended,Proposed funds tor t:ie Bureau of Reclamation include S3.9 million for constnic:ion on the East Greenacres unit of the Rathcrum Prairie project, $11.7 million for Teton Dam and related work, and $20,000 for a start on health and safety facilities at Cascade Reservoir.Other proposed construction includes $35,000 for health and safety facilities at Palisades Reservoir and $18,000 to continue building recreation facilities at Warm Creek Reservoir.In investigations, the administration proposed ?25,000 fortlu- North Side Pumping Divi- lt;sion extension of the Minidoka Project, $165,000 for the Scutlh j west Idaho water management \ study, $100,000 for Upper Snake River management and $200,000 for regional planning for the Pacific Northwest,In the Bonneville Power Ad- I ministration budmjt. the Presi-^ i ident proposed $80,000 for system reactive facilities at Idaho substations, $750,000 for tlie Katwai substation, $467,000 for customer service in the vicinity of Bridge, West Burley and Yale, and $172,000 for transformer additions and replacements at Last End and Athol.The Bureau uf Indian Affairs budget proposes $222,006 for irrigation construction and rehabilitation in I lit Michaud.
