T]i« Wires Aciom the Ill?«r,Cromwell, Feb. 3.-~ A difficult feat of engineering has been accomplished in stringing telephone wires across the Connecticut at the point above *Crom* well known as “Blow Hole” in'the n*»w direct telephone line between New York and Boston. The lowest wires will no,about 185 feet above the surface of the water, so that there will be no possibility of interfering with navigation at -any. season of the year. , Work on the towers,, whiah are of iron frame work, has been completed, aud men are now engaged in tbe difficult task of stringing wires across the river, lo connect with those already strung over land. Forty or GO wires are to be suspended now, but the number will eoou be doubled.
