First Children for Woman, 51, Are TwinsKANSAS CITY (AP) - A 51-year-old woman who learned only a month ago that she was pregnant gave birth to twin girls Tuesday. They are her first children.The mother is Mrs. Martin L. Terbush of near Kearney, Mo.Dr. John Williams of Liberty, Mo., said his patient was believed to be the oldest woman to have given multiple birth on her first delivery.The mother and twins were reported in good condition at North Kansas City Memorial Hospital.The twins were in an incubator. Dr. Williams said they were about 10 weeks premature. One weighed 3 pounds 8 ounces, the other 3 pounds 12 ounces.“I would say she is physically as well as a woman of 38 to 40 years old.” Dr. Williams said. He said Mrs. Terbush's mother was 48 when she bore her last child.
