Farmer Is Held For ArsonNASHVILLE, Dee. 27 —A 52-year-old Warrenton farmer is being held in the county jail here in lieu of a $1,500 bond under a charge of burning a Nash tobacco barn and 3,500 sticks of tobacco.Officers reported today that Coy Crawford has admitted that he poured gasoline about the tobacco barn of Clif O’Neal near Bailey in August, 1949, and set fire to the building.Crawford is quoted as saying he was paid $100 by Gaston Williams. about 38, of Bailey, to commit the act. Williams has been charged with aiding and abetting in the burning, but has been released under a $1,500 bond.Crawford told officers that Williams claimed ownership of thetobacco barn and offcr:d hint $100 to burn it in order that he might collect his insurance. Williams allegedly told Crawford the barn contained only 300 sticksof tobacco.The building was owned at one time by Williams, but was purchased by O'Neal. It is reported that Williams attempted to repurchase the barn but O’neal refused to sell.The investigation was conducted by Sheriff Glenn Womble of Nash county, Sheriff *J. W.
