Thomas J. Forschner.Thomas J. Forschner, contractor and a leading lay member or the Catholic church, died suddenly on Dec, 12, 1930, in Chicago, of heart disease. He was 64 years old.Mr. Forschner was identified with large construction projects throughout the East and Middle West, including government works and a water supply system for New York City. Earlier in his career he owned and operated one of the first coal-tippling mines in the mid-West, near Linton, Ind.During the Eucharistic Congress in Chicago he was host to the late Cardinal Michael de Pauhaber, for whom he had a private chapel built in his home. In February, 3927, he was made Knight of the Order of St. Sylvester by Pope Pius in recognition of his charitable work in the Archdiocese of Chicago.He is survived by his widow and a son, Alfred, and a sister, Bister Bene-dicta of the convent at Mundelein, which was built and donated by Mr. Forschner.On December 18 the will of Mr. Forschner was filed for probate, leaving the entile $2,000,000 estate to the widow, Mrs. Grace M. Forschner. The widow proved heirship for their adopted son, Alfred J. Forschner, of Drexel Hill, Pa,, and for two grandsons, Thomas and Arthur of Brewster, N. Y. Mr.Forschner was identified with numerous large construction projects including a water supply system in New York City. He was made a Knight of the Order of Sylvester by Po/x? Pius XI. ,
