While working at the saw his foot slipped and he fell back against the revolving teeth sustaining a flesh wound twenty four inches long, the shoulder bladebeing cut and the saw penetrating to within a fourth inch of the spine. He was gotten away just in time to prevent a J horrible death. Dr. Stover attended j him and inserted thirty-eight stitch- J es to close the wound. Mr. Oyler had taken the job only this morning, the former sawyer, Ernest Bittinger having to stop Saturday on account of an accident in which he had several toes mashed.
