Recently he was reassigned as Assistant G-3 (Operations and Training) on the 29th Division Staff in Staunton, and Is a Qualified Nuclear Weapons Employment Officer.Mr. Seldon is well known in area sports circles, having been active in officiating high school, prep school and college football and basketball for the past 18 years* Presently he is a member of the Virginia High School League of Basketball Officials and Football Officials and the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials.He is a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, U.C.T., U.S. and Virginia National Guard Association, International City Manager's Association, Judges Athletic Association and serves as Vice Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board.He is married to the former Barbara Ann Darlington. They live at 631 Pennsylvania A ve. with their three sons, Gregory, Steven and Wendell, Jr., and their daughter, Beverly.lt;MR. GRANT, a native of Win- lt;Chester, has been a city employe for 36 years.He was employed by the city in 1930 in the Water Department asj a meter reader, continuing as superintendent of the department from 1931 to 1939.He was appointed city manager effective July 1, 1939, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Arthur M. Field. As city manager, Mr. Grant also serves as purchasing agent and is aj member of the Planning Commission.MAYOR Battalle listed his major accomplishments as including construction of the Sewage Treatment Plant in 1939 and the Water Treatment Plant in 1956.Mr. Grant is a trustee of the Wesley Methodist Church, a member of the Elks, U.C.T. and Izaak Walton League as well as being active in the Apple Blossom Festival, a member of the hospital board and the Chamber j of Commerce Industrial Development Committee. He is a charter member of the Winchester Jay-cees.In 1961, Mr. Grant received the Boss of the Year award from the Jaycees. He received the Distinguished Service award from the group in 1940.He is married to the former Lucille Clevenger.
