There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bethany Home Chapel, Lindsborg.Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Olson Funeral Home, Marquette.Samuel Wayne GarberWICHITA — Samuel Wayne Garber, 6, died of cancer Tuesday, Dec. 10, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.Samuel wasbom Oct. 4, 1979, in Salina and lived in Smolan until his family moved to Wichita last April.Samuel was a member of the Salemsborg Lutheran Church in Samuel Smolan and he attended kindergarten. at Andover Elementary School in Wichita.Survivors include his parents, Robert and Sandra Garber of Wichita; his paternal grandparents, Doyle Garber of Smolan and Dorothy Carnes of Braymer, Mo.; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Alice Martin of Marquette; and his maternal great-grandmother, Allene Terry of Marquette.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Slim Lutheran Church in Marquette, with Revs. Wade Dickson and Paul Hawkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Marquette Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the PALMS at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Olson Funeral Home, Marquette.Harriet G. BurnsARLINGTON, Va. — Harriet G. Burns, 96, Arlington, Va., died Dec. 3, in Louisa, Va.Mrs. Bums was bom Nov. 24,1889, in Fairfax, Mo. She was retired from the United States Weather Bureau.Her husband, Charles, died in 1949.Survivors include three sons, James D. of Arlington, Arliff of Wilson, and Clyde of Ness City; and asister, Alma Brunk of Shenandoha, Iowa.A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Wilson City Cemetery, Pastor Dan Friberg officiating. The body was cremated.Stiles-Parsons Funeral Home, Wilson, is in charge.Eugene GrabbeCONCORDIA — Eugene Grabbe, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia.Mr. Grabbe was born Jan. 20,1915, in Hays. He lived most of bis life in . Jamestown, until he moved to Concordia in 1983. Mr. Grabbe served in the Army and was a member of the Catholic Church.Survivors include a sister, Genevieve Metro; and two brothers, Patrick of Chicago and Herman of Texas.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Revs. Maurice Ptaeek and William Kilian officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery at Jamestown.There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. today at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia, where friends may call after 9 a.m. today.Laura Gertrude GishABILENE — Laura Gertrude Gish, 92, Abilene, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Highland Intermediate Care Home, Abilene, after a long illness.She was bom July 1,1893, in Baxter Springs.Her first husband, John Sims, died in 1952, and her second husband, Paul, also preceded her in death.She operated the Sims Paint and Wallpaper store in Abilene for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Abilene, and was a former active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 111.Survivors include a granddaughter, Sherry Spencer of Plantation, Fla.; and a great-grandson.The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Martin Funeral Home, Abilene, the Rev. John Decker officiating. Burial will be in Abilene Cemetery.
