FINE NEW BANEIS OCCUPIEDTioga County Savings Trust Company Moved Into Its New Building Saturday,The Tioga County Savings Trust Company occupied its new bank bunding last Saturday and the fine new “home” of the Trust Company” was inspected by many visitors. Owing to the holiday season, the bank announced that there would be no formal opening, but invited everybody to come in and look over the building.While this is not, literally, a newbuilding, it is practically new, as the entire first story and the exterior have been rebuilt and the whole structure has been modernized.Hoggaott Brothers, of Hew York, were the contractors. They specialize in bank buildings and know their job from A to %. Soon after they started work on June 7, their methods attracted the attention of all observing people, because they were so painstakingly thorough in all details of the work.Taking just one feature of construction as an example—the scaffolding erected on the exterior of the building was of larger timber than is customary in this section, morerear left corner of the mam roon and is reached through an aisle blt; hind the cages. At the left of the main vaul is the big Corliss spherical safe.It is of interest to note that Cor liss spherical safes are the safes built, aa has been proved by govern ment test. The CorliBS spherical ii the only type of safe which cannot bi drilled through, cannot be sawelt; through and cannot be opened by oxy acetylene flame; in fact, they can not be opened in any way excepi through the legitimate operation o)the time lock.The floor of the banking room is covered with the heaviest battleship linoleum, which is noiseless and verj “easy on the feet.” The furnishings of the banking room, as elsewhere throughout the bank, are of velvet-finished mahogany.The color scheme of the interior is ivory white and eream, ivory beipg used on the ceiling and cream for the side walls, above the dark-finished wainscot.The floor of the iobby is of ter-razzo,* with marble mosaic border.
