NAPA COUNTY PLANSBUSTER OF NEGROESBy United PressNAPA, Dec. 10.—Race feeling ran here toaay as two other Napa County communities prepared to lollow the lead of YountviUe in ridding the county of Portuguese negro settlers.At Yountville. site of the California War Veterans’ Home, the negroes have been given notice to leave the county. The action was taken at a mass meeting of white residents.Owners of property rented by the negroes agreed to give them 30 days notice to vacate.At Oakville and Rutherford stmhar meetings were being planned today, at which it was hoped a like order could be given the undesirable settlers.It is estimated that 200 negroes make their homes in this county. Those advocating their removal declare that the negroes live in crowded conditions in shacks and are guilty of much petty crime.The negroes came to Napa from the fruit orchards of the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys, where they are declared to be good workers as fruit pickers.
