Terre Hautean Celebrates Her 94th BirthdayMrs. Rose Elizabeth Harper,South Eighth street, celebrated her ninety-fourth birthday Thursday atthe home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wayne Harper, with whom she lives.Mrs. Harper is one of eight children of the late Sarah Jane and Isaac Chinoweth Wood of Atherton.Three sisters and four brothers, all now deceased, were Evelyn,Margaret, Sarah, Thomas, William,Frank and George Wood. Her grandfather was a direct descendant of the Cherokee Indian Tribe.Her entrie life has been spent in Vigo and Parke counties.As she nears the century mark,Mrs. Harper is in remarkably goodhealth. She has all but two of her own teeth, and her eyesight is good enough to enable her to read -thedaily papers. Mrs. Harper attributes her years of long life to hard work, wholesome foods, living an unselfish life with the good of others paramount, and her interest in public welfare of her city and country.She has two grandchildren, Mrs.Michael Goda of Fontanet, andMrs. Keith Uptain of Zethyr SCORES OF CANDLES decorated the birthday cake of Mrs. RoseCove, Nev., and seven great-grand- Elizabeth Harper, who celebrated her ninety-fourth birthdaychildren, Thursday.
