Mrs, Sanger Speaker At Guest MeetCasa Grande Women Are Hosts At Reception To SociologistBy N. BESS PRATHERTwo hundred women, members of the various women’s clubs of the valley, gathered at the Woman’s club Monday afternoon, to hear Mrs. Margaret E. Sanger of New York City, speaker on the annual guest day program for the hostess club. The guest club3 included the Eioy Woman’s club, Entre Nous and Woman’s club of Florence, Desert Woman’s club, Senior and Junior Woman’s club of Coolidge and the College club, Matinee Musieale club and Junior club of Casa Grande.Mrs. Sanger spoke for over an hour holding her audience in close attention while she told of her work as a pioneer in the battle of 21 years for the legalized dissemination of birth control knowledge. She told of her^work as a trained nurse, of her own motherhood with three children and the things which caused her to become so vitally interested in the movement She told of the progress of the movement bringing it up to its present national and state status.The preliminary program preceding the address with Mrs. M. Doak presiding, consisted of a poem of greetings written and read by Mrs. Gertrude Hager, a violin group by Mrs. Weaver Meadows with Mrs. Thomas Kilcrease accompanying; a solo. “Our Nation’s Leader/’ composed by Mrs. Mae Furback and sung by Mrs. Lee R. Petty with Mrs. M. M. Bottriell at the piano; a vocal group by Mrs. Alexander Hamilton, guest contralto, accompanied by Mrs. Kilcrease. Mrs.ySan-ger was introduced by Mrs. Gfiarles Prather, state president. ' ,Following the program k social hour was enjoyed with four of the past presidents of the club presiding over the tea tables, Mrs. Lillian Peart, Mrs. F. A. deClercq, Mrs. A. V. Wynne and Mrs. M. M. Bottriell Mrs. Hager presented Mrs. Sanger with one of her famous rattlesnake strings of beads.Prior to the club meeting Mrs. Sanger and Miss Mary Huston of Tucson, were guests of a group of club women at a pot luck luncheon at the home of Mrs, Prather with Mrs. Dcssa Harbison as co-hostess. In the group were Mrs. Nelson Borree and Mrs. Tom Marks of Florence, Mrs. W. E. Jackson of Eloy, Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. M. Doak, Mrs. F. A. deClercq. Mrs. E. G. Lavers, Mrs. M, M. Bottriell, Miss Mary Van Ziie, Mrs. Walter Meyer. Mrs. Bolena Louthan, Mrs. Harbison and Mrs. Prather.
