BASE BALL ASSOCIATION.CHICAGO CLUB GIVEN THIRD PLACE.CINCINNATI STARS ADMITTED TO THE- • leaqueTvSpecial to the Cincinnati Commercial.Buffatx), December 3.—The adjourned meetingof the Directors of the National League of Base Ball Clubs convened at the Palace Hotel this morning a t II o’clock, with President A. Hnri-bert, of Chicago, in the chair, and N. E. Young, Of Washington, at his post as Secretary. A. H. Sodeti was elected a Director, to fill the vacancy causedby the withdrawal of J. W. M: Ntff and the Cincinnati Club. ■: C-,-:.. • i: VThe championship was awarded to the Provi-enee Club 011 a tabulated statement submitted by le Secretary, only six games played with the Syracuso Stars being counted.On resolution, the meeting decided that the Syracuse Star3 hud forfeited their membership m the League.Applications for reinstatement to membership from Alexander McKinnon, of the Troys, and Wna. H. Bodcn, Harry Wright, of Boston; W. A. Hnribert, A. G. Spaulding, of Chicago; Gardner Earl, C. R. De-Forest, of Troy; John B. Sage, Edward B. Smith,of Buffalo; Henry T. Root, of Providence, and J. Ford Evans, of Cleveland, being present. President Hnribert was in the chair, and N. E. Young was Secretary, as before. Justus Thorner ■ nud O. P. Cay lor wero present to urge the claims of the Cincinnati! Club. R. C.JHewltt represented the Nationals, of Washington, and H. C. Bancroft looked arter the interest of the Worcester Association.
