Record Holderit terOfficer ’s CommissionLloyd Bletzer, famous Mt. Union college athlete, who lias resided in (’anton for several years, is enroute \ to Camp Gordon, Georgia, where hi* expects to enter training for a commission in the C. S. army.Bletzer is a fine physical specimen, standing six feet and weighing in the 180-pound division. While at Mt. I nion, Bletzer established a world’s football record for kicking goals from touchdowns, sending the pigskin over .'58 consecutive times for the Purple varsity.The big fellow who has been engaged in business here since graduation was a member of Mount’s two most famous gridiron outfits. He played either at tackle or end, going to the wing when the forward pass came in use. He was picked on the All-Ohio mythical team by many critics during his junior and senioryears at the Methodist institution in Alliance.Bletzer also won honors as a bas-ketbailer, making two letters while at Mount.
