Stokes WomanCelebrates Birthday v -bInMrs. Elizabeth Montgomery, widow of Stephen Lee Montgomery, one of Stokes county’s oldest citizens, celebrated her ninetietn birthday anniversary Sunday at the home of one of her daughters, Mrs. W. W. Tuttle, in Walnut Cove.Mrs. Montgomery’s husband died in 1928. Since that time shehas made her home most of the time with another daughter, Mrs.G. W. Bowman, at Germanton.Mrs. Montgomery scorns the use of glasses, although she does not see nearly as well as she did j v■Ia few years ago. She has neverworn glasses at ar.y time. She also has dispensed with dentalwork all her life. |• {All of Mrs. Montgomery’s eight v children are living: Mrs. Tuttle,!I at Walnut Cove; Mrs. Bowman, tiwith whom she makes her home iat Germanton; Mrs. Preston Bowman, Germanton; Mrs. Tom Campbell, Germanton; Joseph Montgomery, Germanton; Isaiah Montgomery, Germanton; CrawfordMontgomery, Winston - Salem; Mrs. J. B. Chapman, Germanton.There are also 46 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren.
