CAP) — A newborn baby girl was handed lo a motorist off Interstate 71) near here Friday by a young couple who had flagged him down and asked for assistance, authorities said.The haby, taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in nearby St. Charles, was later pronounced in good condition, U was believed to have been born only two hours earlier, weighing seven pounds.A police cadet, Terry Rer-thoiomey, said the unidentified motorist was en route from Auxvassc in Callaway County lo St. Louis when flagged down by a girl who appeared to he in her late teens and a young man in his mid-20s.After the man was handed a blanket, Bertholomey said, the couple entered a late-model gray van parked nearby and drove off in an eastward direction.
