Sumner, late President of the “Judson Female Institute,” ofMarion, Ala., for insertion in the “Alabama Baptist.” That our people may see what is thought of our teachers, our school and country abroad, I send it to you for publication in your pa-[For the Alabama Baptist.]Mr. Editor—We congratulate the frie ids of “Danville Male and Female Col lego,/7 located in Morgan county, Ala., in securing the services of Rev. John F. Dagg ami Lady, to succeed my excellent friend, Rev. J. G. Nash, as Principals of the College.Prof. Dagg. has for many vears devoted himself to the work of teach ill g with gre%t success. He is a gentleman of rare qualifications for the position. He is a son of the distinguished divine and author, Dr. Dagg, whose name he bears. He is a half brotner of Prof. Noah K. Davis, of the University of Virginia, and formerly President of the Judson Female College.Mrs. Dagg has had large experience in teaching, and is admirably fitted by nature and cultivation to be the co-laborer of her husband.Danville is situated in the North part of the State, and has abundant material for a good school. In the midst of a social,moral, hospitable and religious people,it if►f just such a school as Dr DaggWe learn that Rev. J. F. Dagg, formerly President of “Bethel Female College,” of this city, has accepted the appointment of President of the'Male lt;fc Female College, Danville, Ala. Mr. Dagg and his accomplished wife have many triends in this city, who will be glad to hear of their continued success. They are both intelligent aud competent instructors, and entitled to the confidence and respect of the people among whom they live. We congratulate the board of trustees and community on the valuable accession they have made to their institution of learning.
