Rhododendron Is Docked At Weirton Boat Club!tYesterday the Centennial Showboat Rhododendron came to town. The grand old vessel is docked atthe Weirton Boat Club and will be there through Sunday night.The Rhododendron is making a nostalgic run to cities along the Kanawha, Ohio and Monongahela rivers this summer to revive the romance of rivet life.In pioneers days the show boat had its origin in West Virginia.Since there were only trails through the wilderness, the theater had to take itself to the people. The Rhododendron pays tribute to this fast disappearing era.Guided tours through the renovated old ship are conducted from noon every day, and at night the show “East Lynne” is performed on stage.Performances are at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday, and at 8 p.m. Sunday.
