TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO(From Newark Advocate, Aug. 13, 1940)Miss Esther Smith, 129 Fairfield Ave., has taken a position to teach mathematics and Latin at the Martinsville School near Wilmington in Clinton County.For the fourth time in six weeks the Myrle Anderson Furniture Store, 34 S. 2nd St., has been burglarized. Last night they took $50.Birth Announcement: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew F« Lang. 128 N. 7th St., a daughter, Patricia Ann, in ML Carmel Hospital, Columbus.Word received by Mrs. R. S. Birkey, 98 S. Williams St., from her daughter, Mrs. James Brown, San Diego, Calif., states that her husband, Capt Brown, has retired from active service in the U. S. Navy following ill health for the past three years.Carl H. Greider, acting postmaster at Harbor Hills since resignation of Harry J. Allbright, has been madepostmaster.
