XHiJiErnie Horrall Captures SecondCity Junior Golf ChampionshipErnie Horrall, a cool and poised competitor whether it be quarterbacking a football team or sinking dutch shots on the basketball court, made a successful defense of his city junior golf championship by defeating Les Kresge, 1 up, yesterday morning in the tournament windup at Rea Park. Horrall became one of few players in the 20-odd years of the event to win two championships.Dick Schultz, a Woodrow Wilson Junior High School pupil, had an easier time in the championship match of the boys division. He defeated Jim Douglas, 4 and 2. Schultz succeeds John Krnse as boys champion. Kruse moved into the junior division this year and was eliminated by Horrall in a close first-round match.+ + +THE HORRALL KRESGE match shaped up as a tossup at the Start and it turned out to be exactly that. Krcsge, playing in his first local tournament since moving here from Lawrenceville, 111., several months ago, established himself as an early favorite by winning medalist honors. And in Wednesday’s semifinal matches he shot a two-over-par-74 as the lowest score registered during the four-day event.Horrall, as in his first two matches, shot pars when he needed them. The erstwhile Gerstmeyer High School athlete who was graduated with scholastic and athletic honors in June, look the lead on No. 4 and was never behind or even after that.
