First Church of God Vacation Bible SchoolThe Friend Street First Church of God concluded their Vacation Bible School. The school included six classes.The students and teachers who attended are as follows: Junior Boys Class, teachers, Joe Daniels and Greg Dillard. Students: John Tom Douglas, Eric Paugh, Brian Bush, Mike Lynn, Scott Figg, Gary Rann, Mark Lynn, David McClelland, Bobby Bradford, Scott Betz, Mike McClelland, Tiger Cowper, Jeff Hartford, Roy Barnes and Jason Figg.Junior Girls Class, teachers, Susan Douglas, Linda Figg and Sue Thorpe. Students, Mary Diefenbach, Karen Diefenbach, Kim Wail, Angie Thorpe, Heather Knowles, Denna Price, Joni Jones and Deanna Bush. Middlers Girls Class, teachers Beth Dillard, Sallie Paugh, Barbara Ridley. Students: Brenda Duncan, Kelli Miller, Carla Barnes, Lena Morgan, Amanda Douglas, Joey Reed and Linda Gail Bailey.Primary class: teachers, VickieDillard, Kathy Bailey and Beverly Clark. Students: Carrie Cochran, Katie Raper, Melissa Reed, Michelle Rodgers, Patrick Kennedy, Roy Rich, David Thorpe, Aaron Bailey, Jarrod Sharp, Jody Betz, Carrie Hartford and Dianna Raper.Pre-Schoolers: teachers, Kim Mc-Sparin, Ruth Ann Cochran and Carol Sharp. Students: Christy Knowles, Gavin Clark, Jason Cochran, Tony Brent, Danny McClelland and Shawnaree McSparin.Nursery class: teachers, DorisDaniels, Charlene McSparin and Jean Turner. Students, Joshua McSparin and Benjamin Scott Turner. Serving as pianist was Jean Turner, song director, Joe Daniels, coordinator was Carol Sharp and secretaries were Mary Paugh and Shirley Brock.The school staff appreciated all who furnished refreshments and Charles Mattingly for helping with the crafts. The school enjoyed a picnic at the Carrier Mills Park on Friday evening.The V.B.S. program was held on Sunday morning and a grand finale on Sunday afternoon. There were two automobiles, the church van and a school bus that transported the children to the circus at DuQuoin. The drivers helped to make this trip possible.
