Bear Scare in Gooseville AreaBy Associated PressALTON, 111., Aug. 6—A bear on a iear—if it is a bear -has been going for livestock and raising goosepimples on people in the Gooseville section nine miles east of here.Last night it killed a calf on the farm of Floyd Pruett, who said: “I laughed when I first heard there was a vicious animal around here earlier this week, but I’m not laughing now.”Mothers are keeping their children in sight, and farmers with shotguns have formed posses to track the thing down.Those who have seen it say it looks and sounds like a bear.
