Tho sun just wasn't big enough to have lasted the billions of years during which there is plenty of evidence it has been burning at the present rate.In ordinary fire, molecules of wood, coal or whatever else Is blazing, separate. As they come apart, the energy which hold them together is released in tho form of heat, light and other rays, like X-rays.
