republican national conventionCAMBRIDGE.The funeral of Augustus O. Corbetttook place from his late home, 13 Kirkland pi, this morning at 11.30. Rev H.II. Mott of Providence conducted the services. The burial was in Mt Auburn. Deceased passed away suddenly Wednesday from a complication of diseases. He was 59 years of age and leaves three sons and three daughters. One of the sons is -Jack” Corbett, of Harvard football fame, now stationed with battery B, 1st regiment, at Portsmouth, N H. Mr Corbett was a member of post 56, G A. It. When the civil war broke out he became, attached to the 40th Mozart regiment of New York and served throughout the war. He was wounded | at Fair Oaks. He had ancestors in every war waged by this country. Deceased had lived in Cambridge for 25 years and was formerly In the furnace supply business in South Boston. Hla last Illness was of four weeks’ duration.Soundings have Just been made for the proposed new Wrest Boston bridge. The work was done under the supervision of city engineer Jackson of Boston, preparatory to getting out specifications for the excavations for foundations.
