From 1914 to 1918 he was head of the chemistry department at Polytechnic high school in San Francisco.During his long residence in Reno he was a member of the Lions club, member of the board of directors of the YMCA, and was active in various other organizations, He is credited with organizing the first troop of Boy Scouts in the state of Nevada.Surviving him besides his widow, Alma, are three sons, Edward Otis and Donald, both of Oroville, and Robert of Gridley, Calif,, and one daughter, Mrs, B. E. Turner of Alturas.Also surviving is a brother, Harry K.
