For this splendid free feature of this ever increasingly popular resort the people are indebted to Manager Speck, who through his booking agents in London and New York, was put “wise” to the possibility of securing the “Besses” for their first and only concerts in thiscountry. The affair is a proud one for the English in this vicinity, who will turn out in throngs to give their fellow countrymen a hearty American welcome as will also the Scotchmen and Americansthemselves. The Bosses will arrive in New York from England on the steamer Majestic to-day unless the steamer is unexpectedly late. They will come at once to this city where special hotel arrangements have been made for them. A notable feature of this band la that it is the only one In the world playing such overtures as “William Tell” with brass alone or without any reed Instruments. During the engagement of the “Besses o’ the’ Bam Band” the concerts of the 'Second regiment band under the leadership of Frank Flchtl will not be cut out but. instead Mr. Flchtl has arranged some splendid special grogrammes which will be played at the gates of the White City thus making a double attraction the like of which has not even been approached before at an amusement resort in this state.
