The Democrats held their primaries last night tor the election of delegates to the Congressional Convention which meets next week in (greens burg. The contest was spirited and the vote close in Beveral of the precincts.In the First Ward, where two delegates were to be selected, Gilbert V BuchaoaD, Griffith’s friend, was successful; for the other delegate John B. Niesse,. Overmyer man, tied with Scbmidlapp Forse, Griffith.In the Second Ward, Nicholas Boeder and Michael Tarpy were elected, notb for Griffith.In the Third Ward, Louis Barnes and William F. Welch, Gnffiibites, beat the other fellows.In the Fourth Ward. Editor A. S* Chapman, who is for Overmyer, pulled the plum.In the Ffth Ward, Hon. Simeon E Leland, Griffith’s champion, was elected »over ex-Senator John McGregor, City Chairman, who espoused the cause ot Overmyer.The Bloody Sixth elected Michael Noon and Peter Siegel, both supposed to be for GriffithWest Madison elected Peter Lohrig, Griffith, oyer J, Scnill, Overmyer.
