Kitchen Televox Girl ToAppear At Wapello.Miss Katrina Van Televox, the ingenuous electrical robot of the Westinghouse Electric Manufacturing Co, will appear at Wapello on April 28 at 2:30 p. m. under the auspices of the Iowa Southern Utilities Company,Here is a real opportunity for the ladies of this community to see this member of the race of electrically actuated dummies perform her startling feats, With no other assistance than a command from her master, Mr, Burno, who will accompany her here, she turns on lights, starts vacuum sweepers, electric fans, and many other electrical appliances. As a climax to her performance here, she will address her audience.This extremely modern mechanical girl is coming here in the guise of a demure Dutch lass, symbolic of the convenience of Flavor Zone cooking with the modern Westinghouse electric range.Televox robots are eapabla of answering telephone calls, receiving directions, and replacing the receiver when the conversation is over. Boy Wensley, Westinghouse Electric engineer, conceived the idea of a vase of electric automatons.In practical use, robots are not clothed in the body of a dummy, but are intricate machines constructed to perform certain functions in the operation and control of sub-stations, power plants, airport lights, and water reservoirs. Three such automatons are watching three reservoirs in Washington, D. C., and when called by telephone from the War Department, make accurate reports as to the height of the water.Miss Televox has been for some time on a national tour, which has taken her to many cities in the United States.
