He was born May 2.1928, in Clay County, the son of Roland Strahla and Flossie Kittle Strahla. He graduated from Coalmont High School. He attended Browns Business College in Terre Haute before being called to serve in the U.S. Navy. On return home from service, he attended Indiana State University. On March 26, 1949. he married Betty McCullough Strahla. They moved to Indianapolis and he worked for Ernst Ernst. He later worked as the financial officer for RoscoTurner Aeronautical and was the CFO for Regency Electronics. He found he wasn’t suited to retirement and that led him to work in management for Printed Wiring and was also a licensed Realtor. He owned Art Realty, selling both commercial and residential property.He was a past president of the National Association of Accountants, now known as the Institute of Management Accountants. He was also a director of the Indiana Forestry and the Indiana Nut Growers Association.He enjoyed being outdoors and being among the trees and nature. His hobby was tree farming. He also was a member of Heartland Executive Travel Club. He and Betty loved traveling in their 42 foot RV, especially the trip to Alaska with their grandson. Grunt.He was preceded in death by his par ents; and one brother, Carl Strahla.Survivors include his wife Betty Strahla of Indianapolis: one daughter Sherry Strahla Horner and husband Frederick J.
