WILL BE 103 ON MONDAY.■ —■ i i—Mrs Harriet Butterfield Littlehale of Tyngaboro Attains Great Age in Fairly Good Health.TYNGSBOKO, April 11-Mrs HarrietButterfield Littlehale will be 103 yearnold Monday. It is not the intention ofher relatives to have any formal celebration of the event, but friends who desire to extend congratulations will be welcome.Mrs Littlehale has been living for years at the home of her son, Peter Littlehale, on the east side of Merri-mao river, about 1V6 miles from Tyngs-boro bridge.Mrs Littlehale has enjoyed good health during the past winter and is able to dress herself daily. She does not move about much, and has not been out of the house since a short time before the observance of the 100t.h anniversary of her birth. She takes an active interest in what is dally going on in the family circio*She is slightly deaf and for sometime has given up attempts to read and sew.Mrs Littlehale is the daughter of Abner Richardson and Hepsibah Buttrick Butterfield, who were parents of nine children. Five of the children lived to be over 90 years old. She was born in a house about a mile from where she now lives. It was built by her father in 1790. At a celebration of ner 90th birthday in 1890 there were four generations present.Mrs Littlehale, on her mother’s side, is descended from an old Concord family. Her uncle took part In the encounters against the British troops at Lexington and Concord.In September, 1820, Miss Butterfield and Isaac Littlehale, a native of TyngH-boro, were married. Of nine oliildren born to them two are living—Mrs Harriet Spalding of North Chelmsford and I*eter Littlehale of Tyngaboro. Her husband, who died in 1856, was 58 years old.Her son, with whom she lives, served two enlistments In the 6th Mass regt in the civil war. Among Mrs Littlehale’s descendants are 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild •Her relatives live in Tyngsboro, Lowell, Boston, Fitchburg, Buffalo, Needham, Cambridge, Tewksbury, Leominster, l^orchester, Buffalo and Texaa.Mvtny of them were present th« celebration of the 106th anniversary of her birth, and each remembers Mrs Little-hale with some token of esteem, if not able to oorae to Tyngaboro on her birthday anniversary- , , ,tw™, ******* her teethmry Mr* Littlehale was able to do considerable fancy work; Her eyesight waathen excellent.
