Street Railroads.—The Street Railroad ordinance pafi-:ed ibe Council last night. Ae 1 we stated yesterday, it grants to Henry E. , Howland ■ Co. the privilege for thirty years j to build, equip, and operate street railroads j in the city of New Albany upon the follow* j ing streets: Oa Main street, from Falling Run bridge to Upper Vincennes street; out I Vincennes street to Spring; down Spring to , Lower Eighth; out Lower Eighth to Main. ' Also from Water street oat State street to Oak street, the North lino of the city limits.The contractors agree to have the Main street line laid, equipped, and the cars run- jning in four months from the passage of the ordinance, and the balance of the lines are to be completed within twelve months. The Company is a thoroughly responsible and energetic one. and the work will doubtless J be put through within the time specified-Our city has long fell the need of street railroads, and we congratulate the citizens j upon the prospects of having this great public want speedily supplied. We understand Messrs. Howland A Co. will commence the work of laying down the Main street track immediately.
