Ofllcer4Elmdr Robbins was shot and killed almost instantly !early on j Thursday morning by a a unknown man believed to be »a negro from a 1 I Big Four tialn ia the east end of town. For many years Bobbins lias I been engaged in police work, for the i city, foi private persons and lately as yard detective for the Big Four. The tragedy occurred while he ami other officers were in their line of duty and in the darkness the man ! who fired the fatal shot made his ! fcscape and no arrests had been made ! at the hour the NEW ERAi went to press.
