Oftlcer4Elmdr Robbins was shot and killed almost instantly .’early on , Ttxuraday morning by an unknown man believed to be *a negro from a j Biff Four tialn la the east end of town. For many years Bobbins has I been engaged in police work, for the city, foi private persons and lately as yard detective for the Big Four.1 The tragedy occurred while he and other officers were In their line of duty and in the darkness the mao who flred the fatal shot made iiis escape and no arrests had beeu made at the hour the NSW ERAi went to press.
