Woodard, CO, of 61 Shutesbury Rd., a town assessor since 1041 and chairman of the hoard for more than 25 years, died Monday, soon after being admitted to Farren Memorial Hospital.He was a candidate for reelection in the annual elections in Leverett next week.Mr. Woodard had been to the Registry of Deeds office at the Franklin County House onassessors’ business when he complained of not feeling well and his brother, Winfred L. Woodard Jr., took him toFarren. Cause of death was cardiac arrest. According to Eastern District MedicalExaminer Henry Rys of Turners Falls.He was born in Leverett, Nov. 13, 1093, the son of the late Winfred L. and Kate L. (Smith) Woodard.He graduated from Amherst High School and was in the Class of 1919 at Massachusetts Agricultural College, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
