Wells presided at the session.The text of the resolution concerning birth control or race suicide, presented to the Relief society of the t'hurch ot Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in conference assembled, April b, 1117, follows;Whereas, Many of the men and w omen, clubs and papers of the United Sta‘es are uniting in an effort to violate the laws of God and nature by urging the use of contraceptive devices to prevent child-bearing, thus giving greater license to abandoned men and i women while making of marriage a j mockery in the sight of God and 1 Whereas, This birth-preventlon movement has become nation-wide with a “Birth Control League’ which pu'ushes a paper and which has affiliated with similar organizations in England, Holland. Germany. France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Bohemia, Austria Portugal, Brasil, Cuba, Sweden, ltaij and Africa, with United States branches In Ann Arbor, Michigan, Boston, Massachusetts. Cleveland, Ohio, Denver, Colorado, Detroit, Michigan, Indianapolis, Indiana, Los Angeles, California, Minneapolis. Minnesota New York: theHirth Control League of New York, the committee of one l.hOO, the Mothers’ Birth Control League of Brownsville, Brooklyn, the National Birth Control League, the Woman’s Committee of lt;hie Hundred, Patner-ville, t'hio, Paterson, N. Jersey; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Portland, Oregon; Rochester New York; Si Louis.
