And incidentally, ft was brought home to me why the Sanitary Laundry is so popular with discriminating housewives all the way from RelVlderi Gardens to Newport Beach,Since such knowledge as this ia interesting and valuable to all housewives who value their own time, and the cleanliness and health of their households, I am glad to givs a description of my visit to the Sanitary Laundry plant at 523 West Santa Fe avenue In Fullerton and how the above valuable information was imparted to me by A, W. Cleaver, the manager.T found Mr Cleaver to he a progressive young man at 75, and as active as any man In his prime He seas the government's laundry expert during the war, and has been In the laundry business for the past 54 years. After leaving the government service fifteen years ago, he came to Orange countyand at the age of 50, when most men are about through, he bought the laundry in Fullerton and began operating it, soon enlarging ft and Installing the most modern equipment to make the plant the 'Ideal laundry of his dreams.’*That he succeeded is borne out by tbe testimony of many laundrymen that Grangecounty now* has one of the best laundries in tbe who?# United states, and whoso work equals the best anyw^her*.Mr. Cleaver made two positive statements which upset all old-time ideas of fhc laundry, and which every woman in Grange county ought to make him prove to her entire satisfaction: He said:First, that Clothing fabrics washed exclusively at the Sanitary Laundry will LAST LONGER than if washed at borne;’* andSecrmd, that “The Sanitary Ltundfy wilt do the Average family tnA OftfiAfERthan any woman can do it herself, not counting even her own time,”In other words, the woman who values her own time, who wants to he rrononiioat, and who wants her fabric* to LA FT LONGER, will Fend it to the Sanitary Laundryregularly and accomplish these three desirable purposes all at the same time,Mr, Cleaver believes many housewives do not know or understand the advantage# of using modern laundry service and the added leisure and many benefits it will give them, and is undertaking a campaign to acquaint the resident# of Orange county with his mo^^rn plant and the great service it is rendering to hundreds of homes. The average housew ife, doing her own washing, he declared usee the “hard'* wa-ter as it come# from the tap; put* the clothes through one or two suds and one or tworinses runs them through a wringer, and hangs them out to dry.The clothes LOOK clean after thia home washing, he said, hut the microscope shewsthat all through the fabric is what is known as “time soap.** consisting of soiled soapwhfoh has not been removed and which gives the fabric an unnatural stiffness. As long as the soiled soap remain* in the clothes, they are nof thoroughly clean andcannot he sterile and sanitary. The Cleaver way of cleaning clothe* a# used In the Sanitary Laundry plant t*
