It seemed only natural that she major in theater the next year while attending the University of Miami.During those years Rosa earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and gained valuable stage experience at several Florida theaters, including the Coconut Grove Playhouse And it was also at the University of Miami that she met her husband-to-be, actor Gerald Nevin.Rosa, who is the only member of her family to follow an acting career, has a rich heritage. Her mother boasts Spanish ancestry, and her father is of German descent. Both were bom in Cuba, but left with their family for Spain after Fidel Castro came to power Later, they brought Rosa and her two brothers to New York and then Miami.
